One person has died following a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 94 in Eau Claire County Monday night.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says the crash happened at approximately 8:43 p.m. on eastbound I-94 near mile marker 59, just outside Eau Claire. Investigators say the vehicle left the roadway, entered the right ditch, rolled several times, and came to rest upside down.
Fire and EMS crews removed the driver from the vehicle and transported them to Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire, where they were later pronounced dead. Troopers say no other occupants were found in the vehicle.
The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office, Eau Claire Fire and EMS, and the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene.
The driver’s identity has not yet been released as authorities work to notify family members. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
