Sue Ann Rischette, 69, of Tomah, WI, passed away on December 5, 2022, at Tomah Health.
Sue was born on May 8, 1953, to Marvin (Mike) and Marcella (Schulenburg) Schroeder, in Oelwein, IA. After graduating from Reedsburg High School in 1971, Sue went on to study teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
In 1977, she met the love of her life, Jeffrey Rischette, and they wed in May 1978, and went on to have two children, Erin and Melissa. Sue loved her family and loved to serve others. She served in multiple roles at the Holiday Inn followed by an office management position at Norris Vernier. Sue enjoyed her garden, sitting on the patio soaking in Midwest summer evenings, shopping, and spoiling her grandchildren. She had a soft spot for pets, never turning down a request for a fish, hamster, cat, or dog. She will be missed greatly by her canine pals King and Gracie.
Sue is survived by her husband, Jeffrey; her daughters Erin (Adam) Draeger of Aurora, CO and Melissa Rischette of Darien, GA; her seven grandchildren, Laila and Hannah Yrjanson of Cloquet, MN; Julia, Raven, and Anna Draeger of Aurora, CO; and Dante Cromartie and Jayden Stokes of Darien, GA; her brothers, Craig (Ardith) Schroeder of Wonewoc; Kirk (Karen) Schroeder of Baraboo; and Corey (Dixie) Schroeder of Marshfield; her brother-in-law Stephen (Christine) Rischette of Houston, MN; her nieces Stephanie (Ryan) Rhead of Sparta; Leigh (Luke) Korneta of La Crescent, MN; Kristin (Thomas) Wolfe of Wonewoc; Katie (John) Roloff of Wonewoc; Dru Rischette of Houston, MN; Lindsay (Tyson Borchert) Schroeder on assignment in AZ; and Nicole (Cody Heath) Schroeder of Rock Springs and many other loved ones. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Marcella, and her nephew, Brock Schroeder.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022, 12:00 Noon at Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau Street, Tomah. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service. A luncheon will follow burial at Mount Vernon Cemetery.
