On May 28, 2024, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of cattle theft at a farm in the Town of
Alma, Jackson County. It was reported that cattle, valued at about $20,000, had been taken in
the middle of the night.
During the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office identified a suspect named Jennings Christenson,
age 20, of Sparta. Christenson was arrested and held at the Jackson County Jail. The cattle
were recovered and returned to the victims.

At this time, Mr. Christenson retains his presumption of innocence until adjudicated otherwise
in a court of law.
