A South Beloit, Illinois man was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol on suspicion of operating while impaired with two children in the vehicle. Troopers say they stopped 33-year-old Jordan R. Ellsworth for speeding on southbound Highway 53 at Clairemont Avenue in Eau Claire County. During the stop, investigators reported smelling burnt marijuana and observing signs of impairment. A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered several THC-related items, and Ellsworth was arrested after field sobriety tests. He was taken to a local hospital for a blood test. The two children, both under the age of 16, were released to a responsible party. Charges remain allegations unless proven in court.
