T. Paul Nicholson, Sr., of Alma Center, formerly of Williams Bay.
Thomas Paul Nicholson was born April 25, 1950 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin to Walter and Betty (Cowan) Nicholson. He passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota on Tuesday, November 12,
Paul graduated from Williams Bay High School in 1968 and began his career by the water. In 2023, after over 30 years as a boat mechanic for Jerry’s Majestic Marine, Paul was excited to retire and move closer to his family. He sold his home and made the journey from Williams Bay to Alma Center, where he was lucky to find a house right next door to his daughter Amy.
Paul was a kind and selfless man and found great pride in serving his community. He was proud of his many duties with the Williams Bay Fire Department and over his impressive 45 year career as a fire fighter, he also served as Chief and Assistant Chief. Paul was a member of the Williams Bay Lions Club and also served with the Alma Center Fire Department during the short time he lived there.
Paul was an accomplished handyman and there wasn’t many projects he couldn’t handle. He found great joy in helping others and lending a hand whenever someone needed one.
Paul is survived by his children Tom (Dena Lancour) Nicholson and Amy (Jayson, “the perfect son-in-law”) DeLange; grandchildren Elizabeth and Blake DeLange and Gage and Riley Nicholson; great grandchildren Cohen and Reyna DeLange; sister Peggy Hamil; as well as his niece Joy (Mike) Hogan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Dick Hamil.
