A local legion hall is hosting an Open House today, following a major remodeling project. The Taylor-Hixton Hanson-Lien American Legion Post 386 is open to the public from Noon to 3:00 today (10/11). Post Commander, Marie Dunnigan, says a need to refinish the hall’s maple floor led to the old dark paneling from the 70’s coming down and drywall and wainscoting going up. The basement became a history room with artifacts collected over the years now on display. Today’s open house features food and history tours. Dunnigan says the Post wants to show off hall and let the public know it is available to rent for special events. It’s today, an Open House from Noon to 3:00 at the Hanson-Lien American Post 386, at the corner of Hoffman and 2nd Streets in Hixton.
