Friday, July 21st: Convention speakers and award recipients include: Governor Tony Evers, DAV Commander Rob Hilliard, Randall Bansley – WI Gaming Commission, Legion Family Leadership, Brigadier General David May – Adjutant General of the Air National Guard, National American Legion Commander Candidate – Jim LaCoursiere, and honoring Employers of Veterans.
Saturday, July 22nd: Convention speakers and award recipients include: James Bond – WDVA Secretary, honoring 1st Responders, Christopher Kolakowski – WI Veterans Museum, honoring Youth award winners, and Brian Eisch- Veteran featured in the NETFLIX documentary Father Soldier Son.
The American Legion was established in 1919 by wartime veterans determined to strengthen the nation through programs and services for men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans, children and patriotic values. The organization has fulfilled its mission over the last century through such programs and accomplishments as American Legion Boys State and Nation, American Legion Baseball, the GI Bill, benefits for veterans exposed to toxic contaminants, youth oratorical contests, scholarship programs and more.
