The Jackson County Zoning & Land Information Committee will meet on Monday, August 18th at 8:30 a.m. Highlights of the agenda include:

  • Budget Discussions: The committee will review 2025 budget proposals for the County Surveyor, Real Property/GIS, Recycling, and Zoning Departments.
  • Text Amendments: Three zoning ordinance amendments are up for discussion:
    • #2025-31: Shoreland Zoning updates to align with state law.
    • #2025-32: Changes to the Subdivision and Platting Ordinance.
    • #2025-33: Floodplain Zoning updates to comply with Wisconsin regulations.

Public hearings begin at 9:30 a.m. with virtual site visits for zone change and conditional use requests. The committee will consider:

  • A conditional use request to operate a lumber yard in the Town of Franklin.
  • A zone change for a new residential lot in the Town of Albion.
  • Several other rezoning requests for residential or agricultural use across the towns of Cleveland, Knapp, Franklin, Brockway, and Melrose.
  • A request to establish a parochial school in the Town of Albion.
  • A proposal for a short-term rental in the Town of Brockway.

Public comment will be allowed, limited to five minutes per speaker.

The next committee meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 15, 2025, and will include additional site visits and public hearings.
