Tomah school district students in need of financial assistance for school meals got a boost thanks to staff at Tomah Health.

Hospital officials donated three-thousand-six hundred eighty-eight dollars to the district as a result of the twenty-twenty-three (2023) Tomah Health Jeans Scrubs For Charity program which hospital Human Resources Director Brenda Reinert said is a small way for the organization to support a community need.

School district officials say there is a growing trend with more students receiving free or reduced price meals.

Reinert said hospital staff is already raising funds as part of this year’s Jeans Scrubs event which will donate funds to the Tomah Area Cancer Support Group.
