A fatal two-vehicle crash in Trempealeau County remains under investigation.

The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to State Highway 93, about two-tenths of a mile north of Fox Coulee Lane, shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday.

According to investigators, a southbound SUV struck a deer, causing the driver to lose control and cross into the northbound lane, where it collided with a pickup truck.

Both drivers were airlifted to a hospital. A passenger in the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released the names of those involved. The crash remains under investigation by the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office.
