On National Child’s Day, USDA Rural Development Wisconsin State Director Julie Lassa announced nearly $2.6 million in funding for Southwest Health Center, Inc. to construct a new childcare facility in Platteville. The facility will provide 200 slots for children from birth to six years old, addressing the growing childcare needs in the region. The center will also offer after-school programs in partnership with the Platteville School District. The funding comes through the USDA’s Community Facilities Grant program, highlighting the Department’s commitment to improving childcare access in rural areas.
