VA’s 13th annual VA2K Walk & Roll event was held May 17th with goals of moving the body in support of your whole health and well-being, while also helping homeless Veterans.  The event startied at 11 a.m., at the Tomah VA Medical Center in front of 400 by the flag polls.

To help area homeless Veterans, participants were encouraged to bring a voluntary donation such as local transportation vouchers or disposable food utensils and zip lock bags. The donations collected will be distributed to local homeless Veterans. Donations were not required to participate.

Since 2011, more than $3 million in donations of these type have been raised nationally to help homeless Veterans.

““The VA2K Walk, and Roll offers participants a way to support homeless Veterans while promoting an active lifestyle and Whole Health.  This is a great opportunity for the community and VA to come together in support of our nation’s heroes,” said Karen Long, Tomah VA Medical Center Director
