U.S. Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins visited the Tomah VA Medical Center Thursday to review local healthcare initiatives and meet with staff. Joined by Congressman Derrick Van Orden and facility leadership, Secretary Collins was briefed on the center’s suicide prevention programs and a new collaboration with local military installations. During his tour, the Secretary visited the center’s “Whole Health” department and met with the chaplaincy team. Collins also recognized several employees for exemplary service and ended the visit by meeting with 96-year-old Korean War veteran William “Francis” Trepes to thank him for his service.
