Vivian J. Hanson was born February 5, 1929, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Francis and Iola Campbell Burns. She died January 16, 2025, at Gunderson hospital, Whitehall WI.

On February 5, 1948, she married Robert L. Hanson. Four children were born in this union. Renee Hoff, Melrose; Steve (Joy) Melrose; Cyndi (Dan) Molstad Ettrick and Jeff (Maureen) Wenatchee, WA. Robert and Vivian lived in Barre Mills, Wi in a home that they built together.

They later moved to Ettrick and purchased a farm. Vivian stayed home with her children when they were small, then went to work caring for others as a CNA at Hillview Nursing Home in LaCrosse and later at Marinuka Manor in Galesville. Vivian enjoyed tending her plants (inside and out), going on trips even if it was to LaCrosse or Eau Claire, going for walks, reading, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends. She loved her church family; her faith was shared through her life and actions. Vivian had a quiet nature with a witty sense of humor, a bit mischievous with strong determination. She never forgot the humble life she lived as a child, and it formed the adult that she became.
