The Greater La Crosse Area Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is seeking volunteers who would like to donate their time and expertise to prepare for and respond to emergencies that impact public health and safety in their communities. The Medical Reserve Corps is a community-based, civilian volunteer program that is organized & trained to strengthen community resilience. MRC volunteers include medical and public health professionals as well as other community members without healthcare backgrounds.

The Greater La Crosse Area MRC is housed within the La Crosse County Health Department and collaborates with Crawford, Monroe, and Vernon County health departments, as well as healthcare, emergency management and other community partners. Volunteers are provided training to assist with a variety of response and community education activities.

Interested persons can register on the Wisconsin Emergency Assistance Volunteer Registry (weavrwi.org). WEAVR is a secure website which supports the advance registration of volunteer health professionals to support emergency public health response, as well as the platform for MRC unit volunteer registration and management. Questions or requests for additional information may be addressed to Brenda Lutz-Hanson at 608.785.9872 or healthweb@lacrossecounty.org.
