Western Technical College is celebrating October as Manufacturing Month in Wisconsin with weeklong events Oct. 14-18.

           Western’s Career Services will be hosting a Manufacturing Career Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Lunda Center, 333 7th St. N., La Crosse. Employers such as Ashley Furniture, City Brewery, and Inland Printing will be on hand to discuss employment opportunities in the manufacturing field. The event is free and open to the public.

           Western will also be hosting a High School Manufacturing Day for high school students on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The event involves 46 students from seven area school districts, touring and completing projects in programs such as Welding, Robotic Programming, Mechanical Design, and Machine Tool. Students will also be visiting the Manufacturing Career Fair as part of the event.

Western’s Business and Industry Services will be hosting a Manufacturing Luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The event’s featured speaker is Chris Luecke, a podcaster, marketer, and content creator in the manufacturing industry and the host of the podcast, Manufacturing Happy Hour. Luecke will share the lessons he has learned by engaging with 100 manufacturing leaders from across the nation.

           The event will also highlight partnerships between local school districts and businesses, as well as showcasing various student projects from the area. Tours of Western’s Integrated Technology Center will be available following the event.
