Western Technical College is launching a “Pack the Pantry Food Drive” to support students who may experience increased food insecurity due to potential delays in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, also known as FoodShare in Wisconsin.

Community members and employees are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items through Friday, November 7, at Western’s Welcome Center, located at 400 7th St. N., La Crosse, and at various other locations throughout campus.

Most needed items include:

Canned vegetables
Pasta or noodles
Canned proteins (tuna, chicken, etc.)
Ramen
Mac and cheese
Cereal
Jelly
Peanut butter

Monetary donations are also accepted through the Western Foundation at http://www.westerntc.edu/give-now or by emailing foundation@westerntc.edu for more information.

Western’s on-campus food pantry, the Cavalier Cupboard, provides free, confidential food assistance to students year-round. To learn more, visitwww.westerntc.edu/food-pantry.
