A Wisconsin Army National Guard helicopter pilot is making her mark in competitive fitness. Warrant Officer Jenna Sorenson, a UH-60M Black Hawk pilot, has earned a spot on the U.S. Army Warrior Fitness Team after placing first among 72 female soldiers in the team’s qualifying competition.
Sorenson’s fitness journey began during Army basic training in 2015, eventually leading her to CrossFit. A 2019 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout, she also earned her Army aviation commission through the university’s ROTC program.
Sorenson says years of dedicated training helped her achieve her goal. She now hopes to inspire other service members to challenge themselves, stay physically fit and pursue new opportunities.
Alongside competing in CrossFit events, the Army Warrior Fitness Team represents the military at public events and supports Army recruitment efforts.
Sorenson says the most rewarding part of her journey isn’t winning competitions — it’s showing up at the gym every day and working to become better than she was the day before.
