Wisconsin Congressman Calls to End “Critical Economic Dependencies on China”

(Washington, DC) — The Wisconsin congressman in charge of a committee on China says his plans go beyond just a ban on TikTok. Congressman Mike Gallagher will lead the Select Committee on China in the next Congress. He wants to use his post to restore supply chains, and end what he calls critical economic dependencies on China. He also wants to strengthen the U.S. military, and of course he wants to ban TikTok in the U.S. Gallagher has said for months that China’s control over the data created by TikTok is a threat to national security.
