The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has introduced a 12-month state park admission pass, effective Dec. 2, 2024. This transition aligns with the 2023 Wisconsin Act 113, signed into law by Governor Tony Evers in March 2024.
Key Changes:
Validity Period: Passes are now valid for 12 months from the purchase month, replacing the previous system where passes expired on Dec. 31 each year.
Appearance Update: New passes will display the expiration month and year prominently around the edge.
Pricing:
$28 for vehicles with Wisconsin plates.
$38 for vehicles with out-of-state plates.
Discounts include $15.50 for additional in-state vehicles and $13 for senior citizens aged 65+.
Daily rates are $13 (in-state) and $16 (out-of-state).
Convenience: Passes can be purchased online, with immediate access granted via an email confirmation.
Conservation Patron Passes: These remain unchanged in validity, expiring every March.
State Trail Passes: Annual trail passes for activities like biking and skiing will continue with a calendar-year expiration, independent of vehicle admission passes.
