The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is celebrating the end of another successful snowmobile season. Despite some tough snow conditions, the state remains a top destination for snowmobilers, with over 200,000 registered machines annually.

More than 2,300 students were certified in snowmobile safety this season, thanks to the efforts of volunteer instructors. The DNR also ran two Sled Safe campaign weekends, patrolling nearly 1,000 miles of trails and over 50 lakes. Ten stranded snowmobilers received help, and two intoxicated operators were removed from the trails.

The DNR encourages residents to join a snowmobile club or become a volunteer safety instructor during the off-season. More details are available on the DNR website.
