(Washington, DC)  —  In Wisconsin’s Outagamie County, Squaw Lake has been renamed Lake Jerome, and Squaw Island in Door County will be called Keyes Island.  The names of 28 Wisconsin locations are being changed to remove “derogatory” terms like “squaw” from their names.  W-L-U-K/T-V reports the U-S Department of the Interior made the announcement Thursday.  Nationwide, replacement names have been chosen for nearly 650 geographic features by the federal government.
