The Department of Administration and the State Council on Affirmative Action have announced the winners of the 2025 Virginia Hart Special Recognition Award and the Outstanding Leadership Diversity Award.

Samina Grimes of the Department of Workforce Development received the Virginia Hart Special Recognition Award for her people-focused leadership, mentorship, and long-standing commitment to serving vulnerable individuals through the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

The Outstanding Leadership Award went to Dr. Brandi Berry of the Department of Corrections, recognized for her work promoting inclusivity, equity, and wellness for students and staff at Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake School.

Two additional state employees received Virginia Hart Honorable Mentions: Colleen Holtan with the Department of Administration and Amy Kolano with the Department of Public Instruction.

Governor Tony Evers and state leaders say the awards highlight the dedication of public servants who lift up others and make a lasting impact across Wisconsin.
