Join the Wisconsin Veterans Museum on June 13 and 14 as they celebrate the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army, honoring the service and sacrifice of American soldiers since 1775.
Friday, June 13, from noon to 1 p.m., festivities kick off at the Wisconsin State Capitol Rotunda with performances by the Wisconsin Army National Guard Band and Color Guard, a cake-cutting ceremony, and remarks from public officials.
Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., head to the Wisconsin Veterans Museum to enjoy guided tours and more live performances. From noon to 2 p.m., meet World War II veteran Brigadier General Lew Harned, who will sign copies of Lew for the Red, White, and Blue, a children’s book written by Miss Capital City’s Teen 2025, Natalie Popp.
All events are free and open to the public, celebrating the proud history of the U.S. Army since its founding on June 14, 1775, during the early days of the American Revolution.
