Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating a fatal wrong-way crash on the interstate.
A full-size SUV, believed to be driving south in the northbound lanes, struck a compact SUV head-on. The SUV caught fire. A passenger in the compact SUV died at the scene, and the driver was flown to a hospital. The SUV’s driver was also hospitalized and later arrested for Operating While Impaired.
During the investigation, a second crash occurred when a sedan struck a parked Deforest Police squad car with its emergency lights activated. Both people in the sedan were injured. As a result of this investigation, the driver was also arrested for Operating While Impaired.
