March is National Women in History Month and a special ceremony, Wednesday, honored five Jackson County women who’ve made a difference in someone’s life and/or their community.  The 2023 Jackson County Women in History awards were presented to Deb Nichols, Pam Johnson, Karen and Linda Hardwick, and Rita Meyers.  Sheriff Duane Waldera emceed the event, held at the new offices of Jackson County Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, in Black River Falls.  Recipients were nominated by community members.  The Women in History program is a partnership between Interfaith, Black River Memorial Hospital, the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Jackson County, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
