On Saturday, April 8, 2023, at about 8:58 AM, a deputy with the Jackson County
Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle in the Town of Irving for a speed violation and other
erratic driving.

During the traffic stop, the driver was identified as Troy A. Schaller, age 56, of Black
River Falls, Wisconsin. The deputy observed clues of impairment on Schaller and
requested that he participate in field sobriety testing. Schaller was unable to complete
the field tests as requested. Schaller was arrested and booked into the Jackson County
Jail under OWI 5th offense and felony bail jumping.

At the time of arrest, Schaller was already out on active felony bonds from two separate
OWI arrests in Jackson County. One of the arrests was on September 18th, 2022,
where he was issued a signature bond for his release from jail. For his arrest on
December 12th, 2022, he was released from jail after posting a $500 cash bond.
