Jackson County residents are invited to join the fight against Alzheimer’s disease during the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 3rd, at Lunda Community Park in Black River Falls.
The event opens at 8:30 a.m., with the Opening Ceremony at 9:40 and the Walk beginning at 10 a.m. A post-walk brunch will be provided by Interfaith Volunteers at the Lunda Park Pavilion.
Participants will also take part in the Promise Garden ceremony, carrying flowers representing their personal connection to Alzheimer’s and dementia.
More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, while nearly 13 million family members and friends provide care. In Wisconsin, more than 111,000 people age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s, along with 206,000 caregivers.

The Alzheimer’s Association says community support helps advance research while providing care and support for families affected by the disease.
