A La Crosse man is facing multiple child sex crime and drug charges. Jeremiah Midstokke, 44, is charged with using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, attempted sexual assault of a child under age 16, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.
Midstokke is set to appear in La Crosse County Court on March 15.
A La Crosse County Police investigator was having an undercover chat conversation on the Telegram app and was posing as a 15 year old girl. It is reported that a message from Midstokke came in and after several days of conversation he messaged the investigator, whom he thought was a child. He stated sexual acts he wished to do to her and made plans to meet at a location on February 21.
When Midstokke arrived, officers made contact with him and took him into custody. During his arrest, it was discovered he had both Methamphetamine and MDMA in his pockets.
