It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Claire E. Bjork, 83, of Hixton,
Wisconsin, on April 18, 2024.
An only child, Claire was born on November 19, 1940, to Clarence and Myrtle (Berg) Bjork at
the Whitehall Hospital, and he grew up in Hixton helping his dad on the farm. Claire graduated
from Taylor High School in 1958.
After graduating, he continued helping on the family farm, and later also began working at the
cheese plant in Pigeon Falls from 1966 until 1984.
Claire cherished his farm and also loved to garden. His garden flourished under his care, and he
often grew more vegetables than he could use, so he generously shared his veggies and
strawberries with friends and neighbors. A lifelong sports fan, Claire grew up playing baseball
and could usually be found watching the game when the Brewers, Bucks, or Packers were
playing. He often reminisced about going to Brewers games with friends Jim and Bob. Claire
was a skilled hunter and he and his father leased hunting land to other hunters for many years.
Claire is preceded in death by his loving parents, Clarence and Myrtle Bjork.
He is survived by many friends and relatives.
