Congressman Tom Tiffany is expected to address Saturday night’s emergency plane landing in Lake Wausau.
Tiffany says the plane was returning from the La Crosse County Lincoln Day Dinner when it lost power while approaching the Wausau Downtown Airport. The pilot made an emergency landing in Lake Wausau.
As the aircraft began to submerge, Tiffany and the pilot were able to exit the plane and swim to a shallow area, where they waited for emergency responders.
Tiffany suffered a laceration above his right eye that required stitches. He was released from Aspirus Wausau Hospital Sunday night, and the pilot was also released.
Tiffany is expected to thank the pilot, Wausau firefighters, law enforcement, first responders and medical personnel who assisted following the emergency.
