The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture confirms chronic wasting disease, or C-W-D, at a Crawford County deer farm. The positive test came from a two-year-old female elk and was confirmed by the National Veterinary Services Laboratories in Iowa. The farm is under quarantine while state and federal officials investigate. C-W-D is a fatal neurological disease affecting deer, elk and moose.
