Black River Falls, WI—David (Dave) Siegfried Seidl, age 78, passed away peacefully January 3, 2023 at
home. Dave was born on February 27, 1944, in Eau Claire, WI, to Chloe “Tillie” (Kent) and Siegfried Seidl
and raised in Eau Claire, WI.  He was educated in the Eau Claire school system and was a graduate of
Memorial High School, class of 1962.  In 1964 he married his longtime sweetheart, Retamarie Copus
eventually settling in Black River Falls, WI to raise their family.
Dave was a valued employee of Nelson Muffler, Midland Cooperative and the Jackson County School
District over the years. In addition, he managed other local businesses such as the Jackson County
Carwash and Theater.  He was well known in the community and very proud of his time as a Black River
Falls School bus driver, he was looked upon as a mentor by the other drivers and was instrumental in the
safety of the children of Jackson County for many years.
Dave is survived by his longtime partner of 44 years, Betty Krpata; daughter Tracy (Arthur) Pett, of Clear
Lake, WI; son Eryn Seidl, of Kaiserslautern, Germany; Betty’s children, Tom, Tim and Teresa Myher of
Black River Falls WI; 14 grandchildren, Brandi, Jessica, Jayme, Kristina, Annabella, Zachary, Brandon,
Tyler, Brook, Jordy, Kayla, Kyle, Austin, Alexys and three great grandchildren, Mason, Tristyn and Aurelia.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents Chloe and Siegfried Seidl, and sister Nancy.
Graveside Services are tentatively scheduled for early spring at the convenience of the family.  The
family would like to thank the staff at Black River Memorial Hospital. Hospice and EMS for their
dedicated care.  Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Dave’s memory.
