Glen E. Gilbertson, 91, of Hixton, WI passed away at Black River Memorial
Hospital on Thursday, January 5, 2023.  He was born on June 24, 1931 in Black
River Falls, WI to Annetta (Paulson) and Paul Gilbertson, Sr. and raised in the
Oak Ridge area.  Glen proudly served his country in the United States Marine
Corps and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he served as
a Weapons Instructor. 
Glen worked at GI Case in Rockford for nearly 20 years before and after his
military service. He tried his hand at farming in the Hixton/Shady Glen area
and then finished his working career with Grover Piston and Ring Company in
Milwaukee where he was employed for over 20 years.  In retirement Glen
moved to the Hixton area where he resided until his death.
Some of Glen’s favorite hobbies included motorcycle riding, hunting and
fishing in Canada.  He will be remembered as a jokester who loved both telling
and hearing a good joke as well as wanting to keep ‘his deer’ in Sechlerville
well fed.
Glen is survived by a sister, Gloria (Mike) Helstad of Hixton and numerous
nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by several wives; his
parents, Paul Sr. and Annetta; sisters, Paula Faux , Gayle ‘Stormy’ Dulian,
Cheryl Clark, Priscilla ‘Pep’ Lindberg and Anita; and brothers, Paul and John
Gilbertson as well as many special brothers and sisters-in-law.
Services will be held at a later date at the Sechlerville Cemetery in Hixton,
Wisconsin.
