A coalition of Wisconsin aging and disability organizations will hold a virtual, nonpartisan policy forum on Tuesday, October 13th at 11 a.m.
The groups say issues affecting older adults, people with disabilities and family caregivers are not expected to be addressed during the October 22nd governor’s debate. Both major-party candidates were invited to participate in the forum but did not accept.
Topics will include civil rights protections, caregiving and home-care services, accessible housing, transportation and schools.
Organizers say Wisconsin has about 1.4 million people age 60 and older, 1.1 million family caregivers, and 450,000 people with disabilities under age 64.
The public can watch the forum live on the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities’ Facebook and YouTube pages.
