The Wisconsin DNR will host a public informational meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, to update the public on progress made halfway through the Lake Superior Fisheries Management Plan. The meeting will be held at Northwood Technical College in Ashland.

The statewide plan, developed between 2017 and 2020 with input from a stakeholder work group, outlines long-term management strategies for sport and commercial fisheries through 2029. The DNR says the meeting will review accomplishments so far toward the plan’s five main goals and discuss priorities for the remaining years.

DNR Great Lakes Specialist Karson Cisneros says staff have completed work under every goal in the plan through surveys, monitoring, and collaboration. Attendees will be able to ask questions and share feedback to help guide future efforts.

More information on Lake Superior fisheries can be found on the DNR’s Fisheries webpage.
