The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is inviting the public to an open house at the Governor Tommy G. Thompson Fish Hatchery in Spooner on Saturday, September 27.
The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features hatchery tours, family-friendly games, and a chance to see musky and walleye up close. Visitors can also watch fish pumping demonstrations and check out a fish stocking truck.
The Thompson Hatchery is the state’s largest cool-water facility, raising muskellunge and walleye that are stocked in waters across Wisconsin each year.
Details are available on the DNR’s events calendar.
