Donna Mae Halama, 90, of Independence, died Thursday, April 9, 2026, at American Lutheran
Communities Assisted Living, Mondovi, WI.
Donna Mae was born December 14, 1935, in the town of Tilden, the daughter of Edward and
Rose (Bleskachek) Loew. She attended St. Peter’s Grade School in Tilden and graduated from
McDonell High School in 1953. She married Edward D. Halama May 7, 1960, in Tilden, WI.
Donna Mae was a housewife, dairy farmer, and raised strawberries for many years. She liked
dancing, playing cards, doing puzzles, fishing, and playing Rummikub. She was a member of SS.
Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Parish Council of Catholic Women, Piece Makings, and Rosary
Society.
Donna Mae is survived by her children:  Gary (Maryanne) Halama of Independence, WI; Beverly
(Todd Young) Halama of Arkansaw, WI; David (Faye) Halama of Independence, WI; Darlene
Halama of Menomonie, WI; grandson, Brendin Larson of Arkansaw, WI;  brother, Jacob (Diane)
Loew, and sister-in-law, Betty Halama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Shirley, sister Marie Zwiefelhofer
and brother-in-law Donald Zwiefelhofer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Saints Peter and
Paul Catholic Church with Father George Thayilkuzhithottu officiating. Family and friends may
call at the church beginning at 10 a. m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be in the church
