A driver is hospitalized after crashing into a Trempealeau County home Thursday night. The Sheriff’s Office says it happened just after 11:00 on County Road X in the Town of Burnside. Authorities say an eastbound vehicle failed to handle a curve, went into a ditch, and smashed into a house. When first responders arrived, the driver was trapped, unconscious, and had to be extricated through the driver’s side door. That driver was flown to a hospital in Eau Claire with unknown injuries. No one inside the home was hurt. Investigators suspect speed and alcohol played a role in the crash.
