Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative is praising the U.S. Senate’s unanimous passage of the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act. The bill would allow schools to once again offer whole and 2% milk, options supporters say provide important nutrients for growing children.

Edge board president Heidi Fischer called the vote a significant step for both farmers and students. The legislation now moves to the U.S. House, where further action is required before it could go to President Trump.

Edge is one of the nation’s largest dairy cooperatives, representing farmers across the Midwest.
