Elizabeth “Liz” Julia Miles, 80, passed away on November 8, 2023, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
Liz was born to Jacob and Gertrude (Engel) Lempel on October 14, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Liz
attended catholic school in Milwaukee until she met the love of her life, Wayne “Beaner” Miles. After
getting married, Wayne and Liz moved to Black River Falls, Wisconsin, where they would soon start their
family.
Liz spent her early career running the Black River Café. After closing the café, Liz was a homemaker
before working at the local Black River Falls Wal-Mart until her retirement. She spent most of her life as
a caregiver and was a loving mother to her daughters Debra, Tammy, and Kimberly, and later a doting
grandmother and great-grandmother. Liz loved food, regardless of whether she was the one cooking or
eating. She was also a lover of bingo, shopping, and getting her hair done.
Liz is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her daughter, Kimberly Miles; her sister Cathy Foulker;
and her parents Jacob and Gertrude; and in-laws Bud and Mabel Miles.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Miles and Tammy (Dale) Hoff; grandchildren Melissa (Steve)
Collova, Jennifer (Dan) Bill, Cody (Samantha Marg) Bloczynski, Dylan (Michaela) Bloczynski, Cole Schultz;
and multiple great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Buswell’s Funeral Home in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, on November
15, 2023. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. with memorial services at 2 p.m. Burial to follow at Riverside
Cemetery.
