(Mosinee, WI) — “It’s political” — that’s Governor Tony Evers response to criticism of his record on crime by his Republican opponent Tim Michels. Evers says crime is a legitimate campaign issue, but he suggests the recent rise in crime can be blamed on the pandemic. He says people “get kind of stir crazy,” and as a result we’ve seen “lots of bad behavior.” Evers was in Mosinee on Tuesday to announce another 32 million dollars in in grants for emergency service providers. His administration has also provided 19 million dollars from the American Rescue Plan for local police departments.
