UW–Madison Division of Extension and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources are jointly hosting seven
in-person workshops for CAFO permit holders, key employees, livestock producers, their employees and
agronomic and engineering consultants around Wisconsin in late January and February.
Designed for producers with (or considering) WPDES CAFO permits and their consultants, the workshops will
focus on several themes:
Developing a high quality Nutrient Management Plan (NMP)
Proactively addressing production area concerns
Emergency response planning – it’s more than just manure
On-site treatment systems: overview and permit considerations
Days of storage calculations
There will be panel discussions on a number of topics:
Farmer/CCA Panel: Writing and implementing the best NMP
Location specific topis: (Curtiss, WI)
o Farmer/Manure Applicator Panel: Manure innovation and management
o Groundwater quality/high capacity wells in North Central Wisconsin
Registration is $46 in advance and $56 after each event’s pre-registration deadline. Locations, dates and
