At approximately 2:48 PM on Sunday, April 6, 2025, a serious crash occurred on I-94 westbound at mile marker 1 near Hudson, Wisconsin, in St. Croix County. The incident involved a car and a motorcycle and resulted in one fatality and one injury.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, preliminary investigation reveals that the car was traveling in the right lane when it attempted to pass traffic by driving on the right shoulder. The vehicle struck a guardrail, causing it to veer back into the right lane where it collided with a motorcycle. Both vehicles then traveled across the roadway and struck the median concrete barrier.
The motorcycle operator was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Agencies assisting at the scene included the Hudson Police Department, Lakeview EMS, Jerry’s Towing, and the St. Croix Highway Department.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
