Residents looking to safely preserve are encouraged to take advantage of free pressure canner testing offered at three locations this summer.
· June 9 through June 30, 2026, pressure canner testing will be available at Hene Supply in Owen.
· July 2 through July 27, 2026, testing will be offered at the Cloverdale Country Store, Abbotsford.
Residents can also bring pressure canner lids into the courthouse throughout the year for testing but are encouraged to call ahead of time.
This service is provided free of charge and ensures that pressure canner gauges are accurate and functioning properly—an essential step for safe home canning.
