On October 6, 2024, at approximately 12:02 PM, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road C and County Road X in the Town of Albion. Upon arrival, deputies found both vehicles severely damaged, with multiple occupants in one vehicle suffering injuries. Tragically, one passenger, 80-year-old Mary G. Ladwig from Galesville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from the Black River Falls Fire Department, ambulance services, Melrose First Responders, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
