Ho-Chunk Nation 2023 Labor Day Contest Pow-Wow will take place at the Andrew Blackhawk Pow-
Wow Grounds (W8426 WI Hwy 54, Black River Falls, WI 54615) on September 2, 3 and 4, 2023.
The Pow-Wow’s Grand Entries are Saturday at 12 p.m. & 7 p.m., Sunday at 12 p.m. & 7 p.m. and
Monday at 12 p.m.
The Pow-Wow is open to the public and the Andrew Blackhawk Memoiral Pow-Wow grounds offers
free camping onsite as well as free showers and flush toilets.
Neeshla Pow-Wow is a contest pow-wow with drums and dancers competing for cash prizes.
Dancers will be judged in categories by age and style of dance including traditional, fancy, jingle,
woodland, grass and applique.
Emcee duties will be shared by Dylan Prescott and Lance Long with Dave Russell acting as Arena
Director.
On Saturday, September 2 nd , Ho-Chunk Nation is also hosting a Pow-Wow Fun Run/Walk and a
traditional Lacrosse and Double Ball Tournament at the District 1 Community Center (N7261 Warrior
Ave., Black River Falls, WI 54615). The Fun Run/Walk is open to the public and registration begins
at 7:30 a.m. with the event at 8 a.m.
Ho-Chunk Nation’s 24 th Annual Labor Day Co-Ed Softball Tournament will be at the Sand Pillow Ball
Fields (across from N7160 Low Cloud Rd., Black River Falls, WI 54615).
