The Lord Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Janice.
Janice Helen Lizan, daughter of Edward and Emily Lizan, was born in Chicago, IL on August 17, 1950. She was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit on September 24, 1950 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She confessed her baptismal faith in the rite of Confirmation at St. Philomena Catholic Church (also in Chicago, IL) and was admitted to the altar to receive the medicine of immortality, Christ’s life-giving body and blood. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from North Park College in 1974. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Black River Falls, WI and enjoyed reading her bible daily. Janice enjoyed spending time with her friends and conversations on the phone. She loved to eat at Gimi’s restaurant and loved to greet all with whom she came in contact. She made a lasting impact on all who knew her. On May 28, 2025, Janice, at the age of 74 years, fell asleep in Jesus at her home in Hatfield, Wisconsin. She is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Emily Lizan, and her brother John Lizan. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.
A graveside service officiated by Rev. David Shudy will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister Janice. Buswell Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
