The Jackson County Fair continues today and tomorrow, in Black River Falls. The Dairy, Junior Fair Horse, Poultry, and Draft Horse Shows are today. The Livestock Shows wrapped up Friday. Results from the Sheep Show included Macie Casper who won Grand and Reserve Grand Ewe, Riley Laufenberg exhibited the Grand Champion Market Lamb, Alyssa Lindow earned Reserve Grand Champion with her Market Lamb. In the Swine Show, Taylor Laufenberg and Jordyn Olson received Champion and Reserve Champion Market awards, Adam Massman and Chase Kampen has the Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Barrows. Taylor Laufenberg took a full sweep of the beef show earning Grand and Reserve Champion for female beef along with the same honors for bred and owned beef. The Grand Champion steer was shown by Riley Laufenberg. Adam Massman had the Reserve Champion steer. In the goat barn, Julia Berg and Morgan Berg earned Grand Champion and Reserve champion ribbons for their does. Cole Laufenberg won the Grand Reserve for his market goats.
On Wednesday evening, the owners of the Vaarendahl Dairy Farm were honored as Jackson County’s Outstanding Farm Family of 2025. The farm, just outside of Black River Falls, is owned by Dave and Sherry Olson and Ericka and Dominick Gentry. The award is presented annually by the Black River Falls FFA Alumni and Jackson County Fair.
