John Alfred Schildman, 91, of Black River Falls, WI passed away peacefully
Tuesday, January 9th, 2024.
John was born April 23, 1932, in Lacrosse, WI, to Alfred and Gladys Schildman.
John had a brother David Schildman, of Lacrosse, WI, and a sister Janet
Schwartz, of LaCrosse, WI. John graduated high school and went into the Air
Force; he was honorably discharged from the Airforce in February 1963.
John worked as a semi-driver for many years for different companies. He was
also active in the snowmobile club of Lacrosse, WI. John met his significant other
Delores Tucker in 1989, they were together until Dee recently passed on
September 30, 2023.
John and Dee had a great fulfilling life together. The first 10 years or so they both
still worked, years later they both retired and spent their time landscaping,
planting flowers and taking care of their beautiful home and yard, it was their
oasis. John had many sweet names for Dee such as sweetie pie and dove, she
was the love of his life, his Queen (he’d call her).
John had a huge love for reading, bird watching and nature. He was always
reading and gaining knowledge. John loved being social and was very active in
the American Legion for many years. In his retirement years he drove school bus
as well which he really enjoyed.
John didn’t have any children of his own, but he was close with his
granddaughters, who he adored. From going on adventures, jeep rides, nature
walking, going to the wildlife refuge, going to the library, running errands to
John’s IGA where the grandkids got to pick out snacks and so much more, John
made many memories with his grandchildren that will be forever cherished.
